What We Do

Kinnar Asmita initiated its intervention with the transgender community at that time when there was no buzz around the rights of the transgender in the Thane district. At the core of all our initiative is our holistic approach that is intended for the inclusion of the marginalized community from a human rights perspective. Therefore, most of our interventions are goal-oriented and committed to providing counseling, care, and support services to the transgender community. It supports individuals to access their rights such as health care services including counseling and referral services. Through experienced and committed community members we offer confidential psycho-social services that encourage transgenders to seek support in understanding their sexuality, coming out of their identity, and safe sex practices, etc. At Kinnar Asmita, the hub of all activity is the center, set up where the community exists. It is a safe place that provides them the opportunity to express their feelings, creativity and enhance their skills and mainstream them by providing hard and soft skills, and aspirational mindsets as well as empowering career and entrepreneurship pathways to success.
