What We Do

Our Approach

Kinnar Asmita works on health, and human rights, provides shelter, and works for social and economic empowerment of the transgender community through the following initiatives:

Asmita Warriors
(Youth Group)

Collective voice of 80 transgender youth in the age group of 18–25 years for supporting young transgender community members.

(Transgender Dancing Group)

The group performs a wide range of dance styles, from Indian Classical to Indian Folk, as well as Semi-Classical and Bollywood to assert their cultural and sexual identity.

A support system for transgender individuals living with HIV that provides health services to newly diagnosed transgender community members for positive and healthier living; currently, 45 transgenders are part of this group.
